With only one URL link available to you, making sure you use the best one for Instagram is so important (hint, it isn’t always your home page URL). . .
. ❌Do not use LinkTree to add in 5 million different links and overwhelm people with options - it's like going to Wal-Mart and having all those shampoo options, getting tired of looking and picking one you end up not liking. . .
. ❌Don't put no link at all. .

. ❌Don't ignore your insights - are people even clicking on your link? And which link?. . . . . ✔️Think about the most actionable page you can send your followers to; your portfolio, your opt-in, your contact page, a blog post, etc… and know that you are not stuck with that one link forever. . .
. . ✔️Updating your link often (especially if you are a product based shop) is a great way to provide a reason for followers to continue back to your bio again and again! .

First things first, it's actually opposite of the TV ads you see -those copywriters are working a long-term game.

They want you to remember their product at some point in the future, when/if you see it on supermarket shelves.

Direct-response copywriting focuses on the immediate moment. This is copy that’s about inspiring the buyer to take action as soon as they’re finished reading. And I'm betting you would LOVE it if people read your Instagram post and became your client right away, right?! You're trying to get them to complete an action like:

Making a purchase

Signing up for your newsletter

Downloading a freebie

Following you on social media

To do this, you have to craft copy that tugs at your reader’s emotions, and, most importantly, addresses their worries, fears, pain points, or immediate needs.

You don't want to address your audience as if they're in a group - when people read your copy they're alone - so address them on a personal level.

Here's 6 Key Principals you Must Follow:

1. The headline needs to snag their attention, inspire their curiosity, and spark their interest.

2. Long-Form Copy Informs, Persuades, and Convinces

Meaning a long sales page will convert more than a short one.
When your customers have more information, they feel like they’re making a better, smarter decision.

3. An Irresistible Call-to-action Clinches the Response You Want

Example: A button that says "Submit" vs. one that says "Yes! Give Me Access!" 4. Staying Customer-Focused Keeps Your Copy Relevant

It’s about them, not about you.

In fact, this form of copywriting exclusively uses the second person voice to address the reader. It’s “you” focused.

5. K.I.S.S. Ensures You Don’t Go Over Their Heads. (Aka "Keep it Simple Stupid😂").
To inspire direct action from your words, you must write at their level – not over it, not under it.

6.Cultivating a Sense of Urgency Makes Direct Customer Action Inevitable 
You can create an irresistible build up of the benefits or use the scarcity principal to only have a few spots or only a few left, etc.

You’ll spend so much time crafting the perfect email or having that perfect consultation to only get a “oh… that’s a little too far above my budget.” If your pricing is different for every project just include “pricing starts at: $_____.” 3.WHO YOU ARE

As a small business or entrepreneur it’s so important to include information about yourself on your website. It not only gives people a peak into who they are going to work with but it also builds credibility. Just a short blurb about yourself that includes why you started your business and why they should trust you to provide the services you have on your website is enough to put people’s minds at ease.


People need to know exactly how to get in touch with you and you want to make it easy for them to figure out. Make sure that you have an entire page dedicated to contacting you and that the page is easy to find.
